Deep Tine Aeration

Deep tine aeration has been a proven method for relieving soil compaction. Aeration is an important element in maintaining healthy turfgrass. This treatment, if performed properly, will prevent or alleviate a number of problems, including compaction and thatch build-up. It can also improve water infiltration, irrigation efficiency and air exchange.

Large Area Topdressing

Topdressing programs vary according to the changes you desire, soil profile, type and condition of turf; degree of compaction; turf growth cycles; weather conditions and use. Repeated topdressing over a long period, especially in conjunction with aeration, provides other benefits. Topdressing can improve the soil profile, provide protection for turf seed and young plants, protect the crowns of existing turf, improve drainage, help decompose thatch and aid in leveling uneven surfaces.

Overseeding

Overseeding can renovate a worn or damaged area, increases turfgrass density, or alter species composition. Selection of seed is the first consideration. The provision of favorable germination and establishment conditions is fundamental to the success of any overseeding operation. You will find that temperatures above 12^oC, a moist, well-aerated seedbed, close seed to soil contact, and reduced shade from existing grasses are primary requirements for rapid development. Soil aeration and thatch control must form part of a routine maintenance program so that optimum conditions are provided. Optimum contact with soil is important to enhance conditions for maximum germination. A moist seedbed is paramount and, if needed, irrigation must be light and frequent.

The QwikDrain™ system is a vertical bypass drainage system used for sports turf fields, golf courses, and any other application where quality turf drainage is imperative. The WhizWheel

The WhizWheel is the sub-drain trenching machine used in the QwikDRAIN™ system procedure. The WhizWheel performs two operations at once. This machine cuts the collector pipe trench, while removing the soil spoils directly to a separate catcher. This catcher can then offload the spoils to a staging area outside of the work area. While cutting the collector pipe trench, the WhizWheel can pull and install the perforated collector pipe into the trench all in one pass.

The TopFiller

The TopFiller follows the WhizWheel. The TopFiller fills the open collector pipe trench with either wet or dry sand, or pea gravel. While filling the trench with the proper amount of material, the TopFiller compacts the material to help ensure that the process is completed in one pass.

The TopDrain

The TopDrain is the surface drain trenching machine used in the QwikDRAIN™ system procedure. The TopDrain allows us to cut 3 surface drain trenches in one pass, while removing the soil spoils directly to a separate catcher. This catcher can then offload the spoils to a staging area outside of the work area. While cutting the surface drain trenches, the TopDrain injects and compacts sand into the trenches all in one pass.

Laser Grading

Colony Landscape and Maintenance, Inc. has equipment installed with a TopCon™ laser grading system to ensure that all of our jobs are precise and accurate. This TopCon™ laser system self-adjuststo within a 1/8" tolerance.
